Hello, we're Bec & Em
Our story
Small Folk has grown from a shared vision: to create a preschool where children feel a strong sense of belonging, families feel genuinely welcomed, and learning is guided by curiosity, connection and care.
Our experience
Together we bring more than 20 years across early childhood education, schools and health settings. Bec holds a double degree in Teaching and Early Childhood Education, plus a Master’s in Leadership. Em holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, with extensive school and early-learning experience.
What we believe
Responsive relationships, meaningful connections and a strong sense of belonging are the foundation of quality early childhood education. Children flourish when they feel safe, respected and valued as capable, unique individuals.

A Local Beauty, Brought Back to Life
Small Folk has found its home in one of Maclean’s historic buildings in the middle of town. Over the coming months we’re lovingly restoring it into a warm, welcoming space where imaginations can grow, friendships can flourish and little ones feel right at home.
